Get a relaxing way of life while still being close to all the larger city amenities.

Looking for a relaxing way of life but still want to be close to larger urban centres? Then the Municipality of Huron East is the ideal place to call home.

The Municipality of Huron East was created in 2001 during provincial amalgamation and is composed of the former Town of Seaforth, the Village of Brussels, and the Townships of Grey, McKillop and Tuckersworth. With an area of 669 square km, it is the largest municipality in the County of Huron.

Seaforth, the largest business centre of Huron East, is a picturesque town of about 2300 people located just 30 minutes away from Lake Huron. And it's just a short drive away to Stratford and London.

With Victorian homes and stately storefronts, Seaforth and Brussels are perfect examples of rural Ontario at its best. Both feature excellent examples of nineteenth century architecture, some of the best remaining in the province.

Huron East offers its residents many amenities including a community hospital in Seaforth, public schools in Seaforth, Brussels and Grey and public libraries in both Brussels and Seaforth. The entire area is ideal for active living with golfing, baseball, hiking, cross country skiing, soccer, curling and snowmobiling. Children can get involved in 4-H and local sports while adults can become part of one of several service groups such as the Optimist Club and the Lions Club.

Huron East is filled with a mix of events to keep things interesting. The Seaforth Agricultural Society has held a fall fair since 1845 and this remains a highlight of rural life each September, while Brussels gets competitive with an invitational fastball tournament in August.

Huron East offers affordable residential housing with something to suit every budget. Whether you're looking for a classic Victorian home on a tree-lined street, a custom built house or a traditional bungalow set against the backdrop of a peaceful river, Huron East is the perfect place to put down roots.
